Nice weather on the next day. Clear skies except a cloud at the summit of Mt. Dachstein.

At the Hallstätter Gletscher.

In the upper parts of the glacier we had to cross some small crevasses. The small mountain in the background (called Schöberl) is a popular training rock for Alpine climbers.

...

At the climbing route at the East ridge of Mt. Dachstein.

The red line indicates the "Schulter"-route (shoulder-route), the blue line marks the normal route, which is now not very easy accessible, because of the retreat of the glacier.

At the summit.

View to Kleiner Dachstein (in shadow) and to Steinerscharte-pass, which we will have to cross.

Descent through the West ridge, down to the Gosaugletscher.

Großer Gosaugletscher.

View from Gosaugletscher to Mt. Dachstein.

Ascent to Steinerscharte - it looks more difficult than it is.

Steep descent from the pass, down to Hallstätter Gletscher.

We made it - a nice day trip is coming to it's end - let's have a look what the owner of the mountain hut is serving today for dinner?
