The Bekaa valley is a fertile plain between the two Lebanese mountain ranges. The best Lebanese wines come from this sunny valley.

The main sight of the Bekaa valley are the ruins of the Roman city of Heliopolis in Baalbek

The six remaining columns of the Jupiter temple are one of the emblems of Lebanon.
 

Look at the scale and than imagine the size of the whole temple!

The well preserved Bacchus temple is larger than the famous Acropolis in Athens.

At Baalbek you will be really overwhelmed by the masterstrokes of the Romans in building temples and cities.
